Our fitness for work assessments provide expert, independent, objective evaluations of an employee’s capacity to perform their duties safely and effectively or recommendations to improve functioning. Assessments can also be proactive and an early intervention measure to support both the employee and employer.

What’s involved?

When

After an employee is injured

  • Suspected psychological harm, also known as pre-injury or early interventionion (to avoid injury)

  • After mental illness and its impact on work duties have been disclosed

  • Mental health concerns by employee or employer

  • Prolonged leave or

  • concerning behaviour.

The assessment can be carried out either before, after, or during commencing employment.

Process

Consent and Context: The employee provides relevant context and documentation.

  1. Assessment: Conducted via telehealth or in-person, focusing on mental health, functioning and psychosocial risk management.

  2. Report: A comprehensive report with findings and recommendations is provided to the employer and employee.

  3. Consultation: Discussion of the report and its findings with the employer.
