Who can provide Workers’ Compensation Psychology Services?
WorkSafe Victoria, will only pay for psychology services by psychologists who are:
registered by WorkSafe to provide psychology services, and
fully registered with the Psychology Board of Australia
Is there specific Worksafe treatment I need to have?
Psychology services to injured workers as part of the Victorian Workers' Compensation Scheme adhere to a Clinical Framework:
measurable treatment effectiveness must be demonstrated
a biopsychosocial approach is essential for the management of pain and psychological injury
treatment must focus on empowering the worker to manage their injury
treatment goals must be functional and focused on return to work
treatment must be based on the best evidence available
However, our sessions are holistically designed to help you cope with the mental and emotional stress involved in a workplace injury. We understand that everyone’s injury is unique, and we are passionately committed to providing personalised care that supports your overall wellbeing.
Do I need to ask for specific treatment?
No. At Cetas Psychology, we will work with you on your goals, treatment and recovery.
Can I change my Worker’s compensation psychologist?
Yes, you are not locked in and may choose to withdraw at any time. Your health and recovery are vital, and you deserve a psychologist who you work well with. If that is not us, we will help connect you with more appropriate care with someone else. No hard feelings!
